Matumi (Breonadia salicina) is a South African water-wood that grows slowly along permanent rivers, its roots anchored in rocky riverbeds. That slow growth gives it an exceptionally fine, heavy grain: yellow to light brown, streaked with irregular bands of bronze and black, with a surface that feels like polished stone. At 4.1 m, this is the largest table in the collection.
